On December 8th, Bill Hubbard presented a donation of $500.00 on behalf of the chapter to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in support of the Gary Mach Excellence in Media Fund.
Gary Mach was a long time broadcast engineer in NE Wisconsin at WLUK TV 11, the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and Cellcom. He mentored many students and other broadcast engineers. He was a member of Chapter 80 for decades and assisted in helping form the Chapter by bringing in the Green Bay area members a year after the Chapter’s founding in 1981.

Our July Meeting will be the Chapter Picnic in conjunction with The Next Best Thing Tour at Midwest Communications in Green Bay. Our May meeting will be Tuesday, May 17th, at Noon, at the Out-O-Town Club or via Zoom.
Our program will be presented by Bert Goldman from Geo Broadcast Solutions. He will be speaking on Advances in Synchronous FB booster design and construction. Bert is currently the president of Goldman Engineering Management. Bert brings more than 45 years of experience in broadcast engineering. He has extensive experience in facility design, Spectrum improvement, FCC applications, and all facets of station construction.

Our March meeting will be on Tuesday, March 15th at Noon at the Out-O-Town Club in Kaukauna. The program will be a presentation by Conrad Trautmann, the Chief Technology Officer for Cumulus Media. He has 20 years in engineering local radio, 16 in network radio, and the past 6 years leading technology for Cumulus Media. His presentation will be on the WFAS 1230 AM switch to MA-3, all digital operation. The meeting will also be available through Microsoft Teams, connection information is in the newsletter.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 15th at the Out-O-Town Club in Kaukauna or via Microsoft Teams. The program for this meeting will be Jeff Schick, the Chief Technology Officer of Spite Media. He will be sharing “How does digital signage fit into broadcast facilities? The basics and more.”
The January meeting will be on Tuesday, January 18th at the Out-O-Town Club in Kaukauna. This will be our Holiday Party. Cocktails will begin at 5:30 PM and dinner will be at 6:30 PM.The guest speaker will be Kregg Shilbauer, Director of Digital, Broadcast and Game Presentation for the Green Bay Packers. Kregg will share with us what it takes to create a 4 hour live program for over 80,000 fans in Lambeau Field and beyond.
