December 2023 News and Notes

Our December meeting will be on Tuesday, December 12th at Noon at the Out-O-Town Supper Club in Kaukauna. Please note that this is one week earlier than usual. Our meeting will feature Chris Tarr, Chief Engineer at Magnum Media and FCC SECC Chair talking about all things EAS and possibly other broadcast topics. Zoom details are linked in the newsletter.

November 2023 News and Notes

Our November meeting will be on Tuesday, November 21st at the Out-O-Town Club at Noon. This month’s meeding with cover the latest happenings in the SBE, given by Jim Ragsdale. This month will also feature our chapter elections. If you did not receive the ballot in your email or have questions, please email Marty Jury at mjury@sbe.org.

August 2023 News and Notes

Our August meeting will be on Tuesday, August 15th, at Noon at the Out-O-Town Club in Kaukauna. The program will be an interesting video that will look at the similarities of wave behavior. Vice Chair Matt Converse found the video and it covers wave behavior and provides historical context. Zoom information for those who can’t make it in person is in the newsletter.

July 2023 News and Notes

Our July meeting will be on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Woodward Radio Group, 2800 E College Ave, Appleton. We will be hosting the Next Best Thing Tour and our chapter picnic. Vendors will be ready around 11 AM with lunch at Noon. The tour will be open until 2 PM. You can register in advace for the show using this link. All SBE guests should park across the street from the station in the lot next to Tuffy (but not at Tuffy).

June 2023 News and Notes

Our June meeting will be held in conjunction with the WBA Duke Wright Media Technology Institute at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake.


Our July meeting will be the chapter summer picnic. It will be held on Thursday, July 20 at Woodward Radio Group, 2800 E College Ave, Appleton. We will also be joined by The Next Best Thing Tour for the picnic.

Note about lunch for today’s (5/16) meeting

Last Minute Notice:

The Rite Place Restaurant is in the area designated for last night’s  “Boil Water Advisory” in the Bellevue area.  We have called the restaurant for clarification and they issued the following statement:   

“The Rite Place is in the area designated for the “Boil Water Advisory” in the Bellevue area, but we are doing everything we need to do to remain open for business”.    

Given this assurance, we are proceeding with plans to hold the luncheon as scheduled.
